Drexel Wrestling had a strong showing at the Road Runner Open as four Dragons placed including Brandon Palik's first place victory at 197 pounds over Stanford, 9-1. This win allowed Palik to finish the road trip undefeated.
Teammate Shane Fenningham earned a second place finish at 149 pounds. Fenningham went 4-1 on the day and 6-1 overall on the west coast trip.
Frank Cimato picked up third place at 141 pounds on a 3-1 decision over Navy's Joe Locksmith to finish the day with a 5-1 record. At 184 pounds, Bryan Sternlieb placed fourth with a 3-2 record for the tournament.
Noel Blanco contributed 20 points at 157 pounds to go 4-2 on the day, while teammates Austin Sommer and Charles Aungst also had good showings, contributing 14 points each at 157 pounds and 165 pounds respectively. As a whole, the Dragons finished the day with a total of 12 pins on the tournament.
Drexel will return to the mats next Saturday, November 17 when they will compete in the East Stroudsburg Open.
